Nov. 30, 2016 - Loser, Again.

I feel somewhat bad for this Loser of the Week.

He had pretty good intentions and looked good for most of the game.  He should have taken a selfie when his team was up by 10 points early in the third quarter.

Unfortunately, he waited until after THE OHIO STATE University had won in Double Overtime to take the picture.

Bad Timing, LOSER.

Nov. 26, 2016 - Jim Harbaugh is Sad

THE OHIO STATE University beat michigan today 30-27 in double overtime.

The OSU Coach, Urban Meyer,  is now 5-0 against michigan and 2-0 against their coach Jim Harbaugh.

Put all the stats aside.  This is the best story of today and for thing to come.

Sept. 13, 2015 - Loser of the Week - Bret (Yet) Again

Arkansas Head Coach Bret Bielema said this last week. "Ohio State has one game remaining with a ranked opponent. We have eight remaining against teams that are ranked."

Here's a picture of Bielema at that awkward moment when he realizes after losing to Toledo that it was not one of those 8 ranked teams.

Bret - enjoy your remaining time in Arkansas. The end is near.

June 2, 2015 - LOSER - Wally Pipp

The week we will not celebrate the LOSER OF THE WEEK.  We will instead commemorate what happened 90 years ago on June 2, 1925.

The LOSER the first week of June 1925 was Wally Pipp.

Pipp showed up at Yankee Stadium on June 2, 1925 with a headache, and asked the team's trainer for two aspirin. Miller Huggins, the Yankees' manager, noticed this, and said "Wally, take the day off. We'll try that kid Gehrig at first today and get you back in there tomorrow."

Gehrig played well and became the Yankees' new starting first baseman for the next 2,120 games.

The rest, as they say, IS HISTORY.

Whenever any of my ball players have a minor injury, I always say fine.  I put in another player and announce to the umpire that they are going in for Wally Pipp.  They say, "Who is Wally Pipp?"
I say GOOGLE it.

They miraculously recover.

Mar. 1, 2015 - Loser of the Week - Axelrod

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is former Obama front man, David Axelrod.

Axelrod recently stated, “I'm proud of the fact that basically you've had an administration that's been in place for six years in which there hasn't been a major scandal.”

REALLY?  Here is a partial list of scandals and Obama still has 2 years to go...

- IRS targeting of Tea Party Groups
- Benghazi blamed on YouTube video
- NSA monitoring of AP reporters
- Fast and Furious
- Obamacare rollout and non-Constitutional subsidies/exemptions
- VA mismanagement
- Solyndra and other green energy corruption
- Unauthorized Libya war
- Dream Act / Immigration policy

For saying Obama has had NO scandals, David Axlerod, you are the LOSER OF THE WEEK.

Dec. 17, 2014 - Loser of the Week - Lighigan

Michigan now has more food stamp recipients than it does public school students, according to state records.

As of December 2014, Michigan has 1,679,421 individuals on food stamps according to the U.S. Agriculture Department.  According to the Michigan Department of Education, the state’s total pupil count for K-12 is 1,564,114.  THERE YOU GO.

A special thank you should go out to former Democratic Governor, Jennifer Granholm, who served from 2003-2011. She manufactured the decline of a once proud Midwestern state.

Ironically, Granholm is now employed as is a professor of Law and Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley.

Michigan, now “Lichigan”, you are the LOSER OF THE WEEK.

Nov. 17, 2014 - Loser of the Week - Ebola Nurse

It’s time for a LOSER of the Week.

This week, it is Kaci Hickox, the EBOLA NURSE.

Hickox was the health worker who objected to the conditions of her quarantine upon returning from west Africa.  She went out, she went bike riding, she bitched and moaned about her situation.  She did everything but operate the Kissing Booth at the county fair.

Hickox is now objecting to being called “the EBOLA NURSE” in a new op-ed that accuses state politicians of cynically manipulating public fears for political gain.

Really – over 5000 people have died from Ebola.  Can we not make it about YOU?

“I never had Ebola,” Hickox wrote (original emphasis hers) in a Monday op-ed in the Guardian, “so please stop calling me “the Ebola Nurse” – now!”

Hickox accused Republican Governors Chris Christie (New Jersey) and Paul LePage (Maine) of imposing “overzealous” quarantines and exaggerating the risks posed by asymptomatic health workers for political reasons.  It should be now be known that Hickox is a registered Democrat and had written several left-leaning op-eds.

Hickox has co-opted her position as a medical professional (?) for HER political reasons and needlessly endangered others.  Is a 21 –day quarantine that bad?  Did you really put people in possible danger for YOUR POLITCAL REASONS?

That makes Kaci Hickox,  "The EBOLA NURSE" the LOSER of the Week.

Feb. 20, 2013 - Loser of the Week - Ashley Judd

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is Ashley Judd.

Miss Judd is considering a run for Senator from Kentucky. Earlier this week, the Hollywood actress reportedly met with the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in Washington.

Here are her qualifications:

-
-
-
-

EXACTLY.

I guess Ashley Judd is serious about running for the Senate. She took care of her Illegal Immigrant problem. She announced that she is splitting with her Scottish Husband.

Why do so many Hollywood-types think they can just decide to run for very high political office without any experience?

Every election season we hear how Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin, or George Clooney is considering a Senate Run. I guess they must be encouraged by Al Franken's successful (?) MN senate campaign. However, we found out in the postmortem that the senate seat was stolen when 1099 felons provided Franken with a 302 winning vote margin.

Never mind that Judd doesn't currently live in Kentucky. It hasn't stopped other Democrats before like Hilary Clinton and Bobby Kennedy from claiming other State's Senate seats.

I'm not a strong Mitch McConnell supporter. I just don't think we need any more pseudo Senators in Washington. We need serious people there to DO the people's business.

How about electing someone who has experiencing turning around a company or state that was losing money, someone who has created jobs, someone who had NO skeletons in his closet.

Oh wait, that was Mitt Romney.

Jan. 20, 2013 - Loser of the Week - Ray Nagin

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is former New Orleans mayor, Ray Nagin.

The ex-mayor is alleged to have taken $200,000 in kickbacks and received trips to Hawaii, Jamaica and Las Vegas. In total, there are 21 federal corruption charges.

Nagin, served two, four-year terms as mayor from 2002-2010 and was the face of New Orleans after the 2005 Hurricane Katrina. Nagin famously said in a Martin Luther King Day speech in which he predicted New Orleans would return to be a "chocolate city" and asserted that "God was mad at America."

Nagin is not my LOSER OF THE WEEK because of these statements or indictments. Nagin is a LOSER because he MOVED away from New Orleans and currently lives in Frisco, Texas outside of Dallas.

Nagin couldn't even support the people of New Orleans. The same people who supported him.

Nagin is a LOSER without CONVICTION, well at least until his trial.

Jan. 10, 2013. - Loser of Week - Al Gore

My first LOSER OF THE WEEK for 2013 is Al Gore.

Gore is like the relative who visits, but doesn't know when to leave. He has the politics of George McGovern, the libido of John Edwards, the hair of Joe Biden (1987), and the girth Michael Moore.

It has been well document how this "environmental-friendly" politician had private jets, gas guzzling SUVs, and electricity hogging estates.

Now, Al Gore’s hypocrisy is front and center as he has sold his stake in Current TV to Al-Jazeera. This Pan-Arab news channel is funded by the Qatar government that is in turn funded by OIL.

That is right, the same oil that Al Gore has campaigned against his ENTIRE life.

The LOSER and HYPOCRITE OF THE WEEK is Al Gore.

One would have thought that Gore would have stayed away from all OILS, since his disastrous hotel room, oil massage scandal.

I guess that was just an Inconvenient Story without a Happy Ending.

Nov. 20, 2012 – Loser of The Week – Jesse Jackson Jr.

There is an old saying the "Apple Doesn't Fall Far from The Tree."

In the case of Jesse Jackson Jr., It couldn't be truer.

I had previously blogged about Jesse Jackson on three earlier occasions. To my surprise, I had never called out the Senior Jackson as my LOSER OF THE WEEK.

His son will finally go where his father should have --- PRISON.

Jackson, Jr (D-Ill.) was recently re-elected. He won 63 percent of the vote in Illinois' 2nd congressional district despite ethics controversy and, for essentially, not campaigning. NO ONE had seen him in 6 months. He had checked himself into the Mayo Clinic where he was battling a range of illnesses.

While I'm not so unforgiving as to not respect that people get ill and require treatment. The prudent action would have been for Jackson Jr.to resign and allow for an able body replacement. But Jackson, Jr. was above courtesy and common sense. He was selfish and self-surviving.

As we approached the election the media finally reported on Jackson, Jr.'s legal problems. The Chicago Sun-Times' Michael Sneed reported that Jackson is engaged in "ongoing" plea discussions with the feds concerning a $40,000 Rolex watch the Chicago Democrat allegedly bought, with campaign funds, for a female friend -- in addition to previous reports of campaign funds used to decorate Jackson's Washington, D.C. home.

What is sad, is that even with this knowledge, he was still RE-ELECTED BY THE CHICAGO POLITICAL MACHINE.

Jesse Jackson, Jr. You are my LOSER OF THE WEEK.

Sept. 27, 2012 - Loser of the Week - Harry Reid

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is Senate Majority Leader(?) Harry Reid (D-NV.)

LOSER Reid had for months said that he had heard from an "unnamed source" that Mitt Romney had not paid taxes for 10 years. No proof, just baseless accusations, that the press repeated and repeated.

Doesn't anyone think that if there were any shred of truth to this accusation that the IRS under the control of the Secretary of Treasury, that reports to the President, would have investigated the claim?

REALLY, 10 years? Someone should ask Wesley Snipes what happens when you don't pay your taxes for 1 year.

When Ronmey released affidavits from himself and his accounting firm that he had paid no less than a 14% effective rate for each of the last 20 years, nobody in the media even asked Reid for a comment.

Now, LOSER Reid (a fellow Mormon) says that Romney has “sullied” the Mormon faith and that the presidential nominee is “not the face of Mormonism.” It is not as if Reid were some low-level staffer or an overly zealous donor. He is, for goodness sakes, the majority leader in the U.S. Senate.

Imagine if House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said that the Obama had “sullied” the face of Christianity and is “not the face of Christianity”? He would be denounced in every newspaper, and his resignation would be demanded.

I believe LOSER Reid has sullied the Mormon faith by his continued attacks on Romney without fact or reason.

One can only hope that Romney will displace LOSER Reid as the highest elected Mormon on November 6.

Sept. 17, 2012 - Loser of the Week - Chicago Students

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is the Chicago Public School Students.

The Teachers's UNION is holding the students and parents hostage. The current deal they walked away from was a 16% raise. How many people get or are offered 16% raises right now?

According to news reports, Seventy-nine percent of the 8th graders in the Chicago Public Schools are not grade-level proficient in reading, according to the U.S. Department of Education, and 80 percent are not grade-level proficient in math.

Do these results really DESERVE a raise?

Mayor Rahm Emanuel has decided to send his three children to the University of Chicago Lab Schools rather than put them in the financially strapped Chicago Public Schools he’s trying desperately to reform, Additionally, almost 40% of Chicago Public School teachers send their children to private schools.

When ever you buy a car, ask what type of car the salesman drives. This says volumes about the quality of the car, or in this case the quality of the public school education. If THE teachers won't use the product, why would anyone?

The most humorous situation is how much Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis looks like the Roz character from Monsters, Inc.

Is this the face of LEADERSHIP?

The real LOSERS are the students. They deserve better. They deserve an adequate and actual education.

July 12, 2011 - Loser of the Week - Eric Holder

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is current Attorney General Eric Holder.

I'm not going to take Holder to task for the Fast and Furious Contempt of Congress charge. He is obviously trying to cover something up by pleading for Obama to use his "Executive Privilege."

Holder is a LOSER for his position on Voter ID laws. Several states have decided that their voters should show a form of ID in order to vote. Sounds reasonable.

You can't check out a book at the library without an ID. You can't board a plane without and ID. You can't buy an adult beverage without an ID. Why should something as important as selecting a leader not require proof of eligibility to vote?

Holder and his Department of Justice has decided that any State which requires an ID to vote is racist and illegal. He is suing EVERY state that has the audacity to only allow actual citizens to vote.

HYPOCRISY ALERT:

This week, the NAACP required a Photo ID to See Holder Speak in Texas, a State Being Sued Over Voter ID?

What did the media need in order to attend? That's right, government issued photo identification (and a second form of identification too!), something both Holder and the NAACP stand firmly against when it comes to voting.

Clearly, Attorney General Eric Holder Wanted to Keep Minorities Out of His NAACP Speech.

Eric Holder, you are my LOSER OF THE WEEK.

June 2 - Loser of the Week - Charles Barkley

This week's LOSER of the Week is Charles Barkley.

Barkley isn't a LOSER because he spit on a little girl during a NBA game in 2001.

Barkley isn't a LOSER because he said he was misquoted in his own autobiography in 2006.

Barkley isn't a LOSER because he claimed in 2007 that he had $10M in gambling losses.

Chuck Barkley is a LOSER because he stated in 2008 that he wanted to run as a Republican candidate for Governor of Alabama. He obviously has NO idea of what defines the differences between Democrats and Republicans.

Last month, Barkley offered his assessment of Mitt Romney on TNT during a basketball game: "We're going to beat you like a drum in November. Don't take it personally. I like you. You seem like a nice guy ... but you're going down, bro."

With Barkley offering a political endorsement during a basketball game only further illustrates the character of this LOSER.

Barkley is either a racist or a moron. Soon after he announce his intentions to run for Governor, in 2008, he decide to back the Democratic presidential nominee, Obama. Now, Barkley hijacks the TNT basketball coverage to slam his "own" party's representative.

Barkley once infamously stated that he was not a role model, Given Barkley's education, mirth and girth. Barkley is actually a great roll model.

Barkley, you ARE a LOSER.

Dec. 7, 2011 – Loser HOF – Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin is at it again. Yesterday he was booted from an American Airlines flight.

The airline claims that Baldwin refused to turn off his cell phone when asked to do so at the appropriate time. Baldwin claims he was simply playing Words With Friends.

"The passenger ultimately stood up (with the seat belt light still on for departure) and took his phone into the plane's lavatory," an airline statement reads. "He slammed the lavatory door so hard, the cockpit crew heard it and became alarmed, even with the cockpit door closed and locked. They immediately contacted the cabin crew to check on the situation. The passenger was extremely rude to the crew, calling them inappropriate names and using offensive language."

Baldwin also tweeted about the girth of some of the flight attendants. If anyone knows about weight problems, first hand, it's Baldwin.

I had first declared Alec Baldwin, my LOSER OF THE WEEK in 2007.

Now he is a repeat offender which makes him my first entry into the LOSER HALL OF FAME (HOF).

Nov. 3, 2011 - Loser of the Week - Rick Pitino

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is University of Louisville Basketball Coach Rick Pitino.

Rick Pitino must have a short memory, because when asked about Syracuse and Pitt leaving the Big East, he hit us with a quote we won’t ever let him live down:

My problem is not them leaving,” he said. “My problem is you did it in 48 hours. Don’t run away with a girl after one date when you’ve been dating someone else for three or four years. You’ve been dating this woman for 30 years, show a little respect.”

Ummmm…

Hey, Rick, do you not remember that night at Porcini’s?

Rick, you met a strange woman at a restaurant and decided to have sex with her IN the restaurant. To be fair, you did not run away with a girl after one date. You also had ONLY been married for 27 years NOT 30. Very Respectful.

And now you’re accusing Pitt and Syracuse of doing the same by leaving the Big East?

You couldn't come up with a better analogy? Marriage Fidelity is the ONE topic that is off limits to you.

It's like Anita Bryant hosting the Rainbow Coalition. It would be a hunting expedition with Bob Barker. It would be attending a "Resume Writing" seminar by the Occupy Wall Street hooligans.

Get the point.

Rick Pitino, you are a LOSER.

Aug. 10, 2011 - Loser of the Week - John Kerry

My LOSER OF THE WEEK is John Kerry.

I know, I know, He's been a LOSER for a long-time, but why now?

He was a LOSER in the early 1970's when he spoke out against his "band of brothers" and the war in Vietnam.

He was a LOSER when he sold out and married Heinz for money and financial backing.

He was a LOSER when he lost the election in 2004.

But on Sunday, he became a Hall Of Fame LOSER when he blamed the S&P downgrade of the USA credit rating on the Tea Party.

The Tea Party should be thanked not vilified.

\What would have happened if the Tea Party was not around? How much would the debt limit have been raised had the Democrats controlled the White House, the Senate, AND the House?

One of the three tenets of the Tea Party is FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY. How can you argue AGAINST this concept or a Balanced Budget Amendment?

I love the below analogy from Dave Ramsey. It puts it into perspective.

"If the US Government was a family, they would be making $58,000 a year, they spend $75,000 a year, & are $327,000 in credit card debt. They are currently proposing BIG spending cuts to reduce their spending to $72,000 a year. These are the actual proportions of the federal budget & debt, reduced to a level that we can understand."

One of these individuals wears make-up and constantly makes funny, outlandish remarks. The other is a CLOWN.

May 19, 2011 - Loser Of The Week - Mickey Moron

This week's LOSER OF THE WEEK is Disney.

It's not enough that they make money every time you mention their name in a sentence, they have decided to capitalize on the elimination of Bin Laden.

Disney has filed a claim to trademark the phrase "SEAL Team 6" the special forces unit that was responsible for killing Osama bin Laden.

The application covers "entertainment and education services," "toys, games and playthings" and "clothing, footwear and headwear."

It remains to be seen what products will come of these trademarks, but the Bin Laden pajama set with footies has got to be a huge seller.

Disney makes so much money off of their core business. They should be ashamed to try and profit by prostituting the patriotic and heroic act of our Armed Forces.

Disney, you are my LOSER OF THE WEEK.

April 29, 2011 – Loser of the Week – Katie Couric

Katie Couric is my LOSER OF THE WEEK

Katie Couric is giving up her $15M/year reading job. She said, ""I am looking at a format that will allow me to engage in more multi-dimensional storytelling. The Hamilton County Library offers "Multi-dimensional storytelling" jobs. You read to toddlers every Tuesday morning from 10-noon. It's been my experience that they do not appreciate it when you editorialize the materials. They frowned upon my "Easter Egg Redistribution" Analogy.

I had blogged about Katie in 2006 when she was awarded the CBS Evening News Reading job.

Katie went so far as to blame the local affiliates for her poor ratings. I wonder what will replace Katie? I would like to see the ratings for the old "TV Test Pattern." CBS could save $15 Million and regain my respect.

Katie Couric, you are my LOSER OF THE WEEK. Conversely, all the viewers, (and all of the CBS affiliates), will be WINNERS.
