Sept. 14, 2015 - PPM - Crimes and NOT Misdemeanors

This week's PET PEEVE MONDAY (PPM) is the changing standards of a scandal. We now allow criminal behavior to not only occur, but for the criminals to become political giants and front runners.

I visited the Richard Nixon Library 20 years ago in 1995 in Yorba Linda, California. Nixon must be rolling in this grave knowing that he had to resign over 18 minutes of deleted audio tapes.

Image if Nixon had self-policed and reviewed his 62,000 emails, deleted over 30,000, and only handed over the remaining emails in incremental batches.

As they say, “The cover-up is always worse than the crime.”

Hopefully, the standards of the past will catch up with the crimes of the present.

Sept. 13, 2015 - Loser of the Week - Bret (Yet) Again

Arkansas Head Coach Bret Bielema said this last week. "Ohio State has one game remaining with a ranked opponent. We have eight remaining against teams that are ranked."

Here's a picture of Bielema at that awkward moment when he realizes after losing to Toledo that it was not one of those 8 ranked teams.

Bret - enjoy your remaining time in Arkansas. The end is near.

Sept. 7, 2015 - PPM - Fail Gating

This week’s PET PEEVE MONDAY (PPM) is incorrect tailgating practices.

This week I went to an Ohio State football game at the Virginia Tech University. Prior to the game, we were surrounded on three sides by amateur Virginia Tech tailgaters.

Exhibit #1 – these guys take “tailgating” literally. They pulled into the parking spot to our left and then sat in the bed of the truck drinking for 5 hours. No food, no games, no random guests.

Exhibit #2 – this father and son backed into the spot in front of us. They proceeded to get out 2 chairs and read books for 4 hours. No drinks, no food.

The last example (no pic available) was another guy that backed in his Ford Focus to our right. He got out. Filled up his plastic cup with red wine from a box. He then sat in the passenger seat.  Every 20-30 minutes, he would emerge from the car refill his plastic cup and return to the passenger seat. He was alone, so very alone.

The art of tailgating is an acquired skill that takes practice …… as do National Championships.  THE Ohio State University has both.

Sept. 4, 2015 - Friday Funny - Chris Partridge

I stumbled upon this week's FRIDAY FUNNY while taking a detour through the back hills of West Virginia.

We were forced to tour areas of West Virginia due to a road closure. I think I found out what happened to Chris Partridge and the Partridge Family Bus.

Chris never received the respect as a musician that was given to Danny and Keith Partridge.
