April 28, 2014 - PPM - Botched Executions

This week's PET PEEVE MONDAY (PPM) is the termed "botched execution."

This past week, the State of Oklahoma attempted to execute a prisoner. Apparently the lethal drug dosage was incorrect and the prisoner was still alive after 45 minutes. The inmate had a heart attack and subsequently died.

He may have been actually SCARED TO DEATH.

I don't consider this a "botched execution,” he DIED. That was the desired outcome and that is what happened.

What went wrong is that this person was on death row for 15 years, getting 3 meals a day, and getting health care, all on the tax payer's dime.

Now the state of Oklahoma is going to delay all future executions and spend money figuring out what went wrong - AGAIN all at the tax payer’s expense!!!

On June 3, 1999, the now properly dead inmate had kidnapped 3 people at a house in Perry, Oklahoma. He beat and raped one victim, Stephanie Nieman. He then shot her twice and buried her alive as she gasped for air.

Tell me again about who had a more traumatic death?

My PET PEEVE is that we are too worried about the health and welfare of the criminal that we forget about the victim.

A better death sentence is that we tell the convict that they will die at some future date, and time, and method, but it is will be a surprise.

It may be by sniper when they are in the park. It may be while they are sleeping in the dark.

It may be on a train, or in the rain.

It may be late at night or by the dawn’s early light.

The point is….. it is not IF, but WHEN.

The guilty should try to live with that thought, UNTIL YOU DON’T!!!

Apr. 25, 2014 - Funny Friday - Dennis Miller

This week's FRIDAY FUNNY was a local event.

I went to the "Bolder, Fresher" show in Cincinnati. It featured Dennis Miller and Bill O'Reilly sharing personal stories, anecdotes, and opinions about current events and politicians.

O'Reilly was basically a self-promoting bloviator. Miller on the other hand was refreshing and quick witted.

Miller had the best line of the night when asked about a possible 2016 Presidential showdown between Hilary Clinton and Chris Christie. Miller said he didn't know how it would turn out but he was sure that the debates should be filmed in IMAX. OUCH!!!

April 21, 2014 - PPM - Intolerance, Intolerance

This week's PET PEEVE MONDAY (PPM) concerns the growing intolerance for differing opinions.

Every time ANYONE offers a contrasting opinion or challenges the policies of the President they are deemed a racist. If someone thinks that Hillary Clinton will not be a solid 2016 candidate, THEY ARE SEXIST.

After joining Facebook some years ago, some "friends" were stunned that I would offer a political opinion from time to time. They decided to "un-friend" me.

REALLY? (SARCASM VOICE)

If you were REALLY my friend and WANTED to be my friend, you knew where I stood on obvious geo-political, economic, and human race issues. Just saying.

Your Intolerance is Intolerable.
