May 17, 2013 - IRS Open Letter

Dear former acting IRS Director, Steven White:

 

I sort of felt sorry for you yesterday when they fired you and threw you under the bus. You were not in charge when the IRS violations occurred.  However, after watching your testimony UNDER OATH today, if you were the “best and brightest,” how were you not fired SOONER?

 

When you claim the IRS wasn’t being political, but you harassed conservatives, but not progressive groups, no one takes you seriously.

You claim that the IRS only has a “customer service” issue.  No, waiting 30 minutes for a burger at Fridays is a "customer service" issue.  Using the power of the IRS to target political enemies is a FELONY.  The government and the IRS work for the people.  We are not “Customers.”

Finally, you remembered that you did talk to your Treasury Secretary boss last year.  You conveniently can’t recall when and what was said.  SERIOUSLY?
