Oct. 16, 2013 - PPM- Kicking the Can, Again!
This week's PET PEEVE MONDAY (PPM) happened on a Wednesday.
With apologies to Colonel Jessep from “A Few Good Men” played by Jack Nicholson, I provide my feedback from today’s congressional solution (?) to the debt limit/default.
“You want the TRUTH, YOU CAN’T HANDLE THE TRUTH. You don't pay your bills by asking for a higher credit card limit. Raising the debt ceiling to resolve the USA’s financial problem is like raising the blood alcohol limit to resolve drunk driving.
Today, you voted to kick the can down the road. You decided that we should postpone this same exercise for another 3 months. You decide we should pay the 800K furloughed “non-essential” federal workers for a 2 week paid vacation. You voted that we should spend more money to close open-air memorials, than it cost to keep them open. YOU are non-essential and COWARDS.
Our President, and Leader (?) decided it was OK to close the 9/11 Memorial in Shanksville PA. These were the people on United Flight #93 that gave their lives to PROTECT Washington during that terrible day.
THINK ABOUT THAT!!!”

It's too bad the Government Shutdown did not happen in an election year. TERM LIMITS.
We will be in same situation in a few months.
